We Built The World's Largest Beer Can Connect FourBy: Grant Marek
You're probably wondering how we even came up with a ginormous version of Connect Four that uses empty beverage cans instead of stupid tiny plastic discs.
Well, these meeting notes from last week should clear things up:
Official Chubbies HQ Meeting Notes for February 26
Grant: Soooooo we did Settlers of Beertan, and we did Battlepong, anything else we could drinking game-ify?
Mason: You know what we should do? We should build a drinking game version of Connect Four.
Grant: Dude, love it.
Ron Swanson: Agree. Awesome idea, Mason.
Han Solo: Yeah, genius call, Mase.
Mason: Thanks, guys.
And that right there is how we came up with a ginormous version of Connect Four that uses empty beverage cans instead of stupid tiny plastic discs.
HOW WE BUILT IT
First we drilled 171 evenly spaced holes into a standard piece of plywood. (Editor's Note: THIS TOOK FOREVER.)
Then we built some legs for it out of 2x4s.
Then we added rails to the back of the plywood, painted the thing classic Connect Four colors, and Boom Slamma Lamma Kappa Gamma Ding Dong: The World's Largest Beer Can Connect Four.
HOW YOU PLAY
You throw a party with a crap ton of people, where you give half the party-goers one type of beer (Budweiser!) and the other half a different type (Bud Light!), then as soon as one person from each team finishes a beer, they take turns dropping each of the empties into one of the columns with the goal being to line up four of your empty cans in a row either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally (Whoa! It's just like real-life Connect Four!).
NOW HERE'S THE BEST PART
"Crap, someone won and now all of these beers are stuck in the columns and this is going to be a huge hassle to clean up," said no one who has ever played the World's Largest Beer Can Connect Four because we added TRAP DOORS to the bottom so you can throw a trash bag underneath it and clean up your party game in basically one second.
Go for the bottom.
Go for one more.
Go for it.
BEER CAN CONNECT FOUR.
